Canadian Conference on Global Health
Leaving no one behind? Reflections for action in a changing world
29 – 31 October, 2017
Every year, more than 600 people from at least 30 countries gather in Canada for the Canadian Conference on Global Health (CCGH). Practitioners, researchers, educators, students, policy makers and community mobilizers come to share their knowledge and experience and find new ways to work together.
On January 1, 2016, the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) came into effect to end extreme poverty while combatting health, social and economic injustices – with an overarching goal to leave no one behind.
With this global context in mind, the 23rd Canadian Conference on Global Health will provide a forum for reflecting on the first 1000 days of global action and implementation of the SDGs as they impact on the health and well-being of nations around the world.
Specific themes to be examined include: Tackling poverty and social exclusion; Health of marginalized populations during and following periods of crises; Sustainable and equitable environmental action and Research; and Innovation and Measurement for equitable action.
