25 Mar 2024. The Ministry of Health, Vietnam announced the results of the epidemiological investigation of the death of influenza A(H5N1) human infection in the South-Central Province of Khanh Hoa. The death is the first case this year and the second case from 2014.

20 Mar 2024. The Ministry of Health, Vietnam issued its direction of taking measures against measles which is spreading in the world. The Ministry sent an urgent dispatch to people’s committees in provinces and cities requesting strengthened measles prevention as this disease is developing abnormally.

15 Mar 2024. The anti-mosquito fogging programme to stop the spread of dengue fever has concluded in all 105 communes across 14 districts of Phnom Penh, according to the Municipal Health Department. The campaign is aimed at reducing the risk of a dengue fever epidemic.

15 Feb 2024. The Ministry of Health, issued a press release on the diagnosis of Mpox on another man in Phnom Penh as the 12th case. According to the results obtained from the National Institute of Public Health on February 13, 2024, there was one more case of Mpox (monkeypox) in a man living in Meanchey district, Phnom Penh. The patient is being treated at a hospital. Thus, a total of 12 cases of impact were detected.

14 Feb 2024. The Ministry of Health announced that another case of monkeypox was detected in a patient. According to a Health Ministry’s press release issued, this is the eleventh case of monkeypox, also known as Mpox, detected in Cambodia. The male patient who lives in Phnom Penh’s Chamkar Mon district is receiving treatment at a hospital. He tested positive by the National Institute of Public Health.

19 Jan 2024. The Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health, Vietnam asked to tighten border gates to intercept Covid-19 spread. According to WHO, health agencies in countries kept recording the Covid-19 new sub-variants including sub-variants such as XBB.1.5, XBB.1.16, EG.5, BA.2.86, JN.1 that healthcare workers need to monitor these rates closely.

15 Jan 2024. As the world continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, a warning from Chinese health authorities in January 2024 has sounded alarm bells. The health authorities have pointed towards a potential rebound of COVID-19 cases in the country, with the JN.1 variant strain possibly becoming the dominant variant. This comes at a time when China is witnessing a decline in domestic influenza and population immunity, coupled with the continuous importation of the JN.1 variant strain.

14 Jan 2024. The General Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health, Vietnam reported that the number of flu cases has been increasing amid the impacts of long lasting freezing drizzle in the Northern region.

14 Jan 2024. Chinese health authorities warned of a potential resurgence of COVID-19 in January, driven by the rising prominence of the JN.1 subvariant.

While current case rates remain low, with a positive test rate under one percent at surveillance points, the National Health Commission (NHC) highlighted the increasing presence of JN.1.

11 Jan 2024. The health authority has recently recommended people continue to vaccinate against COVID-19, especially those in high-risk groups.

Deputy Minister of Health Sanong Thongsana said that booster shots are necessary to ensure immunity against the virus, especially its new variants.
